Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder on Same Card, But No Showdown in the Ring

Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder’s teams are back in talks to arrange the fight. As per reports the initial discussions between the two camps began as far back as 2015. Despite recent reports suggesting they might share the same card, the disappointment looms as eight years of negotiations won’t culminate in a face-off.

On X, a well-known boxing reporter shares info from Dan Rafael, reporting that Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are discussing separate fights on the same card scheduled for Dec 23rd in Saudi Arabia. This suggests that the fight fans were waiting for will take place in 2024. Apart from that, the reports also adds that Dmitry Bivol might return as part of Riyadh Season during this event so we might see a stack card ft. Joshua, Wilder, Bivol and More.

It comes as no surprise that boxing fans get these kinds of rumors surrounding the hype fight. Much has transpired since 2015— Joshua rose to become the unified world champion, experiencing two belt losses, while Wilder engaged in one of boxing’s epic trilogies against Tyson Fury. Despite the significant events, the fight is yet to materialize.
