Delhi High Court upholds NRAI’s Olympic Selection Policy, rejects shooter’s petition for wrongful exclusion

Indian shooters have earned an unprecedented 21 Olympic quota spots, out of a maximum of 24 for each country in the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Selection Policy, which was developed by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), the country’s governing body for shooting sports, was upheld by the Delhi High Court in a decision that was made public on Thursday. In favor of the standards outlined by the NRAI for Paris 2024, the court denied a shooter’s petition challenging her exclusion from the Olympic selection trials.

In response to the unfolding events, K Sultan Singh, the Secretary General of NRAI, remarked: “Our selection policy for the Olympic Games 2024 stands upheld being fair, reasonable and transparent. All the athletes have been given a fair chance. The policy is more inclusive for the shooters to qualify.”
