U Mumba got off to a perfect start to their season after clinching a 46-30 win over the Bengaluru Bulls on Wednesday. While much was made of Pawan Kumar Sehrawat and his clash with Fazel Atrachali, it was Abhishek Singh who stepped up to see his team over the line. Abhishek finished with 19 points as U Mumba put in a defensive masterclass to keep Bengaluru at bay. The win was the biggest in the opening round of games and Atrachali and Co will begin the game vs Delhi on top of the table.
Dabang Delhi KC did not do badly at all for themselves as they clinched a 41-30 win over Puneri Paltan in their PKL season 8 opener. Star raider Naveen Kumar scored 16 points for Delhi to give the Pune defenders a torrid time on the mat. Naveen will again be in the thick of things when Dabang Delhi face U Mumba, but the prolific raider will hope to have more support against a well drilled defensive unit, with MajeetChillar and Ajay Thakur also sharing the burden.
U Mumba has historically dominated this fixture but Delhi would be hoping to pull off a turnaround. Mumbai have won 12 of their 16 encounters in the Pro Kabaddi League, with Delhi winning thrice and one game being a tied match.
