After the silver medal, Neeraj Chopra will be plotting for a sweet revenge in Birmingham to outshine Anderson and win gold.
In fact, Neeraj Chopra will be defending his gold, which he won in the last edition of CWG Gold Coast in 2018. Interestingly, Neeraj had the best fourth throw in the qualification while Peters was third. In the medal round, Neeraj eased past all competitors to win gold in Australia with a throw of 86.47.
So many things have changed in the last four years. Besides Neeraj adding Olympic gold to his medal kitty, all the top throwers have made it a habit to throw 88 plus quite easily. Neeraj has registered a best throw of 89.94m last month, which is his personal best while Peters has been the standout performer, throwing the spear above 90m with ridiculous ease.

However, Neeraj has defeated Peters twice this year, which can motivate the Indian thrower at the quadrennial games. He beat him at Turku and Kuortane earlier this month.
The throwers does not have much time to rectify their mistakes with the competition scheduled for August 5 and 7 in the CWG. It means, they have exactly ten days for the competition to start.
It remains to be seen how Neeraj Chopra vs Anderson Peters Round 2 pans out. They have become huge rivals of late, and that will be on full show once again in Birmingham.
It is not only Neeraj, there is huge expectations on the entire Indian athletics contingent. With the likes of Avinash Sable, Murali Sreeshankar and a host of other triple jumpers and relay teams among others, there is a hope of a great medal haul in Birmingham.
