India at CWG 2022: As per the schedule, the mixed team events will be beginning first. After the completion of it, the players will then play for individual medals.

Mixed Team Event
India will enter the mixed team event as the defending champions, having won the gold medal in the 2018 edition at the Gold Coast after defeating Malaysia in the final. Totally 16 teams will be participating in the mixed team event with all the teams divided into four groups comprising four teams each. India is placed in Group A alongside Australia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
In the mixed team event, each match will have five ties, namely, Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Teams that win more than 3 ties in a match will be adjudged the winner.
Mixed Team Event Schedule for India
India is placed in a relatively easy group and will kickstart their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on 29th July, They will then face Sri Lanka and Australian on 30th July 2022.

Individual Event
After the completion of the team event, players will then focus on individual glory. Indians will be entering the individual events as favourites. Sindhu will be aiming to win the gold medal this time after clinching the silver in the last edition, where she lost to compatriot Saina Nehwal in the final. Saina Nehwal is not considered this time as she failed to meet the selection criteria and Aakarshi Kashyap will be the second women’s singles player representing India.
Kidambi Srikanth too will be aiming for Gold as she bagged the silver medal in the last edition. Apart from Srikanth, Lakshya Sen has shown great form this year and has breached into the Top 10 in the world rankings, he will also be a strong contender for a medal in the men’s singles.
India’s men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty has won the silver medal last time and they will alo look to clinch gold for the country this year. Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will be playing their maiden Commonwealth Games and they will also look to win a medal. Ashwini Ponnappa will partner Sumeeth Reddy in the mixed doubles. Overall, India can expect a medal in all the individual categories.
