India’s star athlete Neeraj Chopra has claimed that is not budged by pressure. In fact the Olympic gold medallist claims that he wants to live up to the expectations and it gives him the motivation to perform. India’s golden boy is now keen to perform well and to improve constantly.
Expectations are naturally high on Neeraj Chopra after he bagged the gold in Javelin back in Tokyo Olympics 2021. With Paris Olympics scheduled later this year, the youngster is ready to meet the standards that he has set.
“I like it when people expect things from me. I enjoy it when I win and live up to the expectations. It motivates to perform better,” Neeraj Chopra told told Sports Tak.
“It was different in Tokyo; it was my first Olympics and the focus was not so much on me. But in Paris, eyes will be on me as I will be looking to defend the title. So, I need to stay motivated and fit,” Neeraj added.
Ready To Improve
The youngster aims to continuously improve. He however has claimed that he won’t make any changes on his technique. Eyeing the yellow medal yet again, Neeraj is now focussed on improving his strength and flexability.
“I haven’t made any changes to my technique, but I am looking to improve. I want to improve my leg blocking and also wish to work on my strength and flexibility. I am not thinking about changes, but yes, I am looking to constantly improve. Hopefully, I will be able to give my 100 percent throughout the year,” Neeraj concluded.
