Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy made history by winning India’s first-ever Asian Games gold medal in Badminton in September this year. They have now come forward to contribute for a noble cause by auctioning the match jersey worn during the Asian Games final.
The jersey that Chirag Shetty wore during the match will be up for auction on Sunday, 26th December. The shirt has been signed by both the players. It has also been confirmed that the proceedings of the auction will go for a school in Tamil Nadu to set up a global sports program.
Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy are the brand ambassadors of Solibad Charity. The auction will take place in the Instagram channel @solibad-charity from 2 pm on Sunday. The auction is said to last for six hours until 8 pm on the day.

According to a press release, the funds raised at the auction will go to Sri Meikandaar School located in Mannachalur village in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. “The money raised will be used to set up a global sports program for 900 children,” stated the release.
Chirag and Satwik defeated South Korea’s Choi Sol Gyu and Kim Wonho in the Men’s doubles final to win the historic gold medal. It was the first time that India sealed a top of the podium finish in individual events in Badminton at the continental event.
The duo subsequently went on to reach the World No.1 ranking for the first time in their career. The have now slipped to No.5 in the rankings. However they are the top seeds in the ongoing China Masters, where they have reached the semifinal.
