India’s top men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty entered the final of the China Masters 2023. The top seeded duo got the better of home favourites He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu 21-16, 22-20 in the semifinal on Saturday.
With the win, the former World No.1 pair will be playing their fourth final in the BWF Tour this season. Satwik-Chirag duo had previously won all three of the final in the tour this year.
They were the champions at Swiss Open 2023, Indonesia Open 2023 and Korea Open 2023. They also won the Asian Championships and the historic gold medal in the Asian Games.

At the China Masters, the top seeded pair have been dominating in every match so far. They defeated England’s Ben Lane abd Sean Vendy 21-13, 21-10 in the opening round. They Indian pair went on to clinch a 21-15, 21-16 victory against Japan’s Akira Koga and Taichi Saito in the second round.
In the quarterfinal, they sailed past Indonesia’s Leo Carnando and Daniel Marthin with a 21-16, 21-14 victory. On Saturday in the semifinal, they won the first game comfortably. In the second game, they faced a stiff competition but managed to clinch it 22-20 to enter the final.
Satwik-Chirag will face the winner between Chen Bo Yang/Liu Yi and Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang of China in the final on Sunday.
