Prior to his fight with undisputed light middleweight champion Jermell Charlo, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has decided which of the Charlo brothers is the superior fighter.
On September 30 in Las Vegas, Alvarez will defend all four of his super middleweight championships against Charlo in a bout that will see the latter move up two weight classes. Originally, Jermell wasn’t supposed to take this fight.

Canelo Alvarez Makes His Pick Between Jermell Charlo and Jermall Charlo
Instead, his twin brother, Jermall, who is the middleweight world champion, wanted to fight Alvarez, but because of problems off the field, he now gets the honour.
Alvarez chose one of Jermell and Jermall Charlo as the superior fighter during the press conference in Los Angeles prior to the fight.
Alvarez asserted, “I believe Jermell and Jermall Charlo are excellent fighters.”
No offence intended for Jermall. Jermell, though, I believe has faced tougher competition in his contests. He is the better fighter, in my opinion. That’s all I can say.”
Also in a recent podcast with The Breakfast Club, he addressed the same topic, he was asked who according to Canelo Alvarez is a better fighter between the two brothers Jermell and Jermall though he hasn’t been in the ring with them.
Canelo responded, “ I think both are great fighters, But I think Jermell is the best, the best of the two.”
The reason Canelo Alvarez changed his opponent at the last minute was due to inactivity and personal matters.

When the Mexican superstar unexpectedly switched from Matchroom to PBC earlier this month, it made headlines. However, it was difficult to blame him given that the arrangement involved three fights and $100 million. On September 16, he was supposed to take on Jermall Charlo for his promotional debut.
The current WBC middleweight champion, “Hitman,” was initially scheduled to fight Alvarez. He last competed in June 2021, defeating Juan Macias Montiel by unanimous decision. This lack of action, coupled with internal problems, caused a last-minute change.
Canelo Alvarez formally declared that he would make a comeback on September 30 in Las Vegas. He will go up against Jermell Charlo rather than his brother. In contrast, “Iron Man” has been much busier, eliminating Brian Castano in May.
