Can Dabang Delhi KC win the PKL this time?

With a blend of seasoned players, strategic new signings, and experienced leadership, Dabang Delhi K.C. is well-equipped to challenge for the PKL title in Season 11. While the road ahead is challenging, the team’s preparations and determination suggest that they are ready to give it their all.

As Dabang Delhi K.C. gears up for Season 11 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), the burning question on everyone’s mind is whether the team can reclaim the title they won in the 2021-22 season. With a revamped squad and a new head coach, the team is poised to make a strong bid for the championship.

Strong Foundation for Dabang Delhi KC

Dabang Delhi K.C. has retained some of its most valuable players, setting a solid foundation for the upcoming season. Naveen Kumar, the team’s captain and a star raider, continues to be the face of the franchise. Alongside him, Ashu Malik and defender Yogesh have been crucial to the team’s success, providing consistency and experience.

New additions bolster Dabang Delhi squad

At the Season 11 player auction, Dabang Delhi K.C. strategically strengthened their squad. The acquisition of Siddharth Desai, a formidable raider, for INR 26 lakh, has added significant firepower to their attack.

On the defensive side, the additions of Gaurav Chhillar and Rinku Narwal promise to solidify the team’s defence, which already includes talents like Himmat Antil and Vikrant.

Leadership under Joginder Narwal

One of the most significant changes for Dabang Delhi K.C. this season is the promotion of Joginder Narwal to the role of head coach. A former player and assistant coach for the team, Narwal brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the team’s dynamics.

Having been part of the team that won the title in Season 8, Narwal is eager to guide his players to another championship.

“It feels amazing to become the Head Coach of the team, especially because I played for the Delhi team,” Narwal shared. “In Season 10, our team did very well, but unfortunately, we couldn’t win it. Hopefully, we have a bright future.”

Challenges and Preparations for new PKL season

Despite the team’s strong lineup and experienced leadership, the journey to the title will not be easy. The competition in PKL is fierce, and Dabang Delhi K.C. knows that every match will be a battle. Narwal has emphasized the importance of off-season training and participation in local tournaments, ensuring that his players remain in top form.

“Most players continue their training during their off-season. They work hard and also participate in local tournaments for their respective domestic teams when the season is not in session,” Narwal said. “I also have a lot of youngsters who practice with me, so I help them with their training.”

Pro Kabaddi League old format

Season 10 saw the return of PKL to its traditional format, with matches being held across 12 home cities. This format posed both challenges and opportunities, as teams had to adapt to different weather conditions and environments. However, it also allowed players to experience the thrill of playing in front of their home fans, something Narwal believes was crucial for their development.
