In the latest rankings updated during the last week of the year, Prannoy moved up one place to reach the World No.8 position. He is now just one place behind India’s Men’s Singles No.1 Lakshya Sen. Sen has maintained his position in the ranking. Meanwhile, Kidambi Srikanth has gone down one place as he is currently the World No.12 in Men’s Singles.
Last week, Prannoy broke into the Top 10 for the second time in his career. He first made it to the elite bracket way back in 2016. Prannoy’s career-best ranking is the result of a terrific season that he has had in 2022. At the start of the year, the shuttler from Kerala was ranked World No.26. He made deep runs in several tournaments that helped him to climb up the ladder in the rankings.
