Bravo: Novak Djokovic wishes Jannik Sinner & Medvedev after 5-set marathon in AO Final

Djokovic had lost to Sinner in the semifinal but showed no hesitation in wishing two of his biggest rivals on the ATP Tour.

Moments after Jannik Sinner beat Daniil Medvedev at the Australian Open 2024 Final, 10-time champion Novak Djokovic congratulated the two finalists. Sinner had started off slow and quickly went down two sets to none. However, after his nerves wore off, the Italian started to produce mind-blowing tennis.

Despite losing to Jannik Sinner in the semifinal in four sets, Djokovic showed why he was such a big champion and congratulated both Medvedev and Sinner on their brilliant performances in the final and the tournament as a whole.

Sharing the image of Jannik Sinner posted by the Australian Open, Djokovic wrote, “Well done Jannik! Well deserved. Congratulations to your family and team.”

Djokovic also praised his good friend and rival, Daniil Medvedev, writing, “Huge effort from Daniil! Tough luck today but amazing tournament you did.”

With a chance to lift a record-extending 25th Grand Slam, Djokovic had failed to produce his best against Sinner in the semifinal. Now, with the next generation, Carlos Alcaraz and Sinner, both winning slams, Djokovic’s chance of winning his next slam has decreased exponentially.

Not just these two, but up-and-coming players like Holger Rune and experienced campaigns in Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, and Andrey Rublev also stand in the Serb’s way.
