Fury and Ngannou confirmed they would compete in a professional boxing bout, under official rules. The fight will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will be Ngannou’s first bout after leaving the UFC. And with his latest action, Fury seems to be taking things seriously.
Tyson Fury confirms training camp has started for Francis Ngannou
Despite confirming his retirement multiple times, Fury has taken to social media to announce the commencement of his camp. ‘The Gypsy King’ posted a picture on Instagram and said, “Social Media Blackout commenced as I go into training camp. All roads lead to Riyadh on October 28th and all eyes on the prize- The Baddest Man On The Planet.”
Fury then also warned Ngannou one last time about meeting him in the center of the ring. Moreover, he then confirmed that his account will still be active but will be run by his team and not him. Therefore, we won’t get any rants from Fury like we have become accustomed to over the last three years.
Fans did not take this move very well. The majority of the comments questioned Fury’s decision to take this fight and called it pointless. Some even said they used to respect Fury but now no longer do because of his antics. One fan even commented, “Waste of time. Why are you dodging Usyk?? Unify the division and give the fans the fight they want.”
Therefore, this shows that despite Fury and Ngannou earning a hefty purse, it won’t be the kind of blockbuster event we expected for a Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua bout. While neither Fury, not Ngannou will bother with these opinions, it will be interesting to see what fans have to say if Fury loses.
What do you make of Tyson Fury’s social media blackout? Do you think Francis Ngannou can beat him?
