Boxing: Joshua Secures Massive Payday with Victory Over Franklin: Anthony Joshua vs Jermaine Franklin

It’s no secret that Anthony Joshua is one of the highest-earning boxers in the world. In terms of his biggest purses and salaries, his fight against Deontay Wilder in April 2018 saw him earn a whopping $32 million, which included a $32 million base salary and did not include any additional revenue from pay-per-view shares.

Another notable payday for Joshua was his 11th round knockout of Wladimir Klitschko in 2017, which earned him $20 million and helped him secure the WBA and IBF heavyweight titles.

In 2019, Joshua’s first fight against Andy Ruiz Jr. earned him $32 million, while the highly anticipated rematch brought in an eye-watering $60 million. Based on his impressive track record, it’s safe to say that Joshua’s average purse for a heavyweight title fight is between $20-30 million, while non-title bouts typically earn him $5-10 million.

As for his current bout, it has been reported that Joshua has earned more than $12 million for this fight, adding yet another impressive sum to his already impressive career earnings. Additionally, it should be noted that the aforementioned number does not factor in the Pay-Per-View shares, which could potentially increase the overall earnings. Although the exact amount of the purse has not been officially announced, these numbers are the estimated prize money that the fighter will receive.
