Boxing Fans Rejoice Ryan Garcia Training With Floyd Mayweather: ‘Right Steps’

Ryan Garcia suffered TKO loss to Gervonta Davis in his last fight on April, 2023

Ryan Garcia was spotted in a training session with retired world champion Floyd Mayweather, sending the entire fighting world into a frenzy.

Garcia, who is still under Golden Boy Promotions, sparked rumors of potentially signing with Mayweather Promotions when he appeared sitting beside ‘Money May’ in a basketball game.

To further intensify the situation between ‘KingRy’ and Golden Boy, Floyd Mayweather also expressed his desire to sign Ryan Garcia.

The unbeaten boxing veteran told, “I’m not looking to sign Ryan, but if he wants to sign and he’s free, I’ll sign him.”

“But if I’m not mistaken, he’s under contract. You always have to make sure things are worded right before you get a lawsuit or before you get a letter from a boxer’s promoter.”

Meanwhile, Ryan Garcia’s recent video of training with Floyd Mayweather has been highly appreciated by the boxing world. Fans also reffered to how Tank Davis’ successful boxing journey can be implemented in Garia’s career too.

Here’s a look at a few reactions from the netizens.

Ryan Garcia suffered his maiden career defeat at the hands of Gervonta Davis in April of this year. The highly-anticipated matchup ended lopsidedly in favor of ‘Tank’ Davis, who put on a clinical dominance on ‘KingRy’ throughout.

Gervonta Davis knocked down Ryan Garcia for the first time in round two. Five rounds later, ‘Tank’ Davis knocked out his opponent in the seventh to earn a career-defining victory for himself.

When Can Ryan Garcia Fight next?

Per Box Rec, the Nevada Athletic Commission has medically suspended ‘KingRY’ until October 20, 2023. He will be free to fight after that. That said, the Golden Boy Promotions has already outlined future opponents for Ryan Garcia.

Golden Boy President Eric Gomes revealed about those plans in an interview with the Pro Box TV.

Gomes said, “With King Ry we are targeting mid-Nov for [his comeback]. We have been in discussions about opponents..”[Jose Zepeda] is another kid, who is available for Ryan…We have offered [Zepeda] to Ryan.”

Ryan Garcia had a hydration clause in his last appearance against Gervonta Davis. He can now only appear at 140 lbs (super lightweight) category. 23-1 as a professional boxer, Garcia holds 19 knockout wins under his belt. Nevertheless, he hasn’t won a boxing world championship yet.
