Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder back in negotiations

According to Boxing Kingdom on X, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder’s teams are back in negotiations to make the fight happen. They also confirmed that the first contact between the two groups started back in 2015. And boxing fans voiced their opinions on the same in the comments.

This comes after rumors of Deontay Wilder and Francis Ngannou starting negotiations as well. Moreover, Wilder also welcomed the idea of an MMA fight against Nate Diaz. Therefore, boxing fans will not get their hopes up after this news.

It is no surprise that boxing fans are tired of hearing the rumors of these negotiations. A lot has changed since 2015. Anthony Joshua went on to become the unified world champion and lost his belt twice. Deontay Wilder took on Tyson Fury in one of boxing’s greatest trilogies.

While this will still be one of the biggest fights in the year, if it happens, it won’t be as big as it could have been. At one point, this could have been for the undisputed heavyweight title of the world. Joshua held three belts and Wilder held the WBC belt.

However, now neither of them holds any titles. But the lack of titles could make the negotiations easier. Only time will tell if the fight actually happens this time.

What do you make of this news? Do you think we will actually get to see Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder in the ring?
