Indian wrestler Bhuvanesh secured a bronze medal in the men’s 61 kg category at the World U20 Wrestling Championships. He was the only Indian to win a medal on the final day of the tournament. Bhuvanesh managed a nail-biting 6-5 win against Kazakhstan wrestler Nurlanbek in the bronze medal match.
Bhuvanesh wins bronze at World U20 Wrestling Championships
India did not enjoy a good run in the event as Bhuvanesh became only the second men’s freestyle wrestler to win a medal at U20 World Wrestling Championships. The other medal winner is Ankush who won a bronze in men’s 57 kg category. India finished the tournament with one gold, one silver and five bronze medals.
