A great day for Indian tennis at the Bengaluru Open 2024. With seven Indians in action, the round of 16 matches provided plenty of thrilling matches and even some major upsets. Day 3 at the ATP Challenger 100 tournament saw 11 matches (6 singles and 5 doubles) get underway at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA).
Unlike yesterday, the seeds did not enjoy great success today. In singles, two of the six seeds were knocked out. World number 462, Ramkumar Ramanathan, knocked out the top seed, Luca Nardi, while fourth seed Benjamin Bonzi fell to Maks Kasnikowski. The remaining seeds advanced to the quarterfinals in straight sets.
In doubles, three Indian duos were in action. Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni knocked out compatriots Siddhant Banthia and S D Prajwal, while fourth seeds Rithvik Choudary Bollipalli and Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha lost in straight sets.
