Badou Jack Revealed Why Canelo Alvarez Didn’t Fight Him

In a tweet, Badou Jack stated, “I won’t be fighting Canelo next. They said the weight difference is too much, they wanted to drain the old man and fight me 20lbs UNDER the cruiser weight limit for the title. Plus a rehydration clause.” He went on to suggest a fight against David Benavidez instead.

Jack’s revelation has been applauded by fans and boxing enthusiasts alike, with many commending him for speaking out about the tactics being used in negotiations. One fan responded, “I salute you for speaking up champ and letting the [fans] know the tactics that are being used,”

while another said, “Tell ’em Champ Canelo didn’t want that smoke.”

Badou Jack, who was born on October 31, 1983, has won world titles in three weight classes, including the WBC cruiserweight title since February 2023. He has a professional record of 24 wins, four losses, and three draws. Jack is respected in the boxing world for his technical skills and resilience in the ring.

While a fight between Badou Jack and Canelo Alvarez would have been highly anticipated, it seems that negotiations have broken down due to disagreements over weight limits and rehydration clauses. However, Jack’s decision to speak out about the reasons behind the fight not taking place has been praised by fans, who appreciate his transparency and honesty.

It remains to be seen who Badou Jack will fight next, but fans can expect to see him in the ring again soon, defending his WBC cruiserweight title against a worthy opponent. Follow InsideSport on GOOGLE NEWS /  For Boxing News updates with InsideSport.IN
