Badminton World Tour Finals LIVE: India’s HS Prannoy suffered second successive defeat at the BWF World Tour finals 2022. The Indian lost to China’s Lu Guang Zu. Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Anthony Ginting has booked a spot in the semifinals of the BWF World Tour finals. Ginting, who is the seventh seed in the tournament, defeated Chinese Taipei’s Chou Tien Chen 14-21, 21-12, 19-21. Meanwhile, his compatriot Jonathan Christie defeated Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew. BWF World Tour Finals: Indian badminton star HS Prannoy eyes podium finish at World Tour Finals in Bangkok: Check details

Second seed Chou Tien Chen has bowed out from the BWF World Tour finals as he suffered a 14-21, 21-12, 19-21 defeat against Anthony Ginting in his second group contest. While, with the win Ginting booked a spot in the semifinal.

Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew failed to extend his winning run in the tournament as he lost against Jonathan Christie 16-21, 22-20, 21-10. HS Prannoy too bowed out from the tournament after suffering a 21-23, 21-17, 19-21 defeat against Lu Guangzu. Meanwhile Viktor Axelsen continued his win streak as he sailed past Japan’s Kodai Naraoka in straight games.

Women’s Singles

China’s He Bing Jiao is the only player to advance to the semifinals in the Women’s singles. The top seed clinched a straight game victory against Ratchanok Intanon on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tai Tzu Ying bounced back from her defeat in the first group match. She defeated Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan 22-20, 21-16.

An Se-young too clinhed her first victory in the tournament as she defeated Indonesia;’s Gregoria Tunjung in three games. China’s Chen Yufei defeated World No.1 Akane Yamaguchi in straight games in the other encounter.

Men’s Doubles

In the Men’s Doubles, Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Mohammad Ardianto and Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan booked spot in the semifinals as they clinched their second successive victory in the tournament. China’s Liu/Oi duo too advanced to the next stage as they defeated Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Soh.

Women’s Doubles

In the Women’s Doubles, Thai pair Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai suffered straight game victory against Jeong Na Eun and Kim Hye Jeong. Thailand’s Aimsaard sisters meanwhile won 21-9, 21-12 against Malaysia’s Hoo-Chiew pair.

In mixed doubles, China’s Huang/Zheng advanced to the semifinal with successive victories. Local favourites  Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai defeated Malaysia’s an Kian and Lai in their second group encounter.
