Badminton World Tour Finals: Indian shuttler HS Prannoy has begun his preparations for the upcoming BWF World Tour final. The season finale is all set to kickstart from 7th December 2022. Prannoy is the only Indian who will be in action in the tournament. He has reached Bangkok on Monday and has straightaway hit the practice courts. The 30-year old posted a video on his social media accounts with the caption, “First session,” In the short clip, the shuttler was seen in an intense practice session. This is Prannoy’s first-ever appearance in the BWF World Tour Finals. He enters the tournament as the third seed.
His appearance to the season finale is a result of a great season he has had on the tour this year. His best performance in singles this year is a runner-up finish at the Swiss Open Super 300 event. He also made it to the semifinals at the Malaysia Masters and Indonesia Open and was the only Indian in singles to make it to the quarterfinals of the World Championships.

He finished third in the race to the BWF World Tour finals this year behind World No.1 Viktor Axelsen and Chou Tien Chen.
The tournament which was scheduled to be held at Guangzhou in China, has been relocated to Nimibutr Arena in Bangkok, Thailand due to the Covid-9 pandemic. Now the tournament will run from 7-11 December – one week earlier than the scheduled dates.
