Australians vulnerable to crime in Paris, most attacked at start of Summer Olympics

Australians heading to France, for the Olympics in Paris or otherwise, are being encouraged to "exercise a high degree of caution

Australian tourists in Paris for the Summer Olympics are facing the brunt of rime in the city. The warning comes to light after two Australian media personeel were robbed and assualted in Paris. Additionally, an Australian women was gang-raped by a group of five-men just two days earlier. The marquee event is already underway, with the opening ceremony set to take place on July 26.

Australians not safe in Paris?

Australians heading to France, for the Olympics in Paris or otherwise, are being encouraged to “exercise a high degree of caution,” a warning about the events unfolding in France states.

There is also a risk of serious crime such as assault, sexual assault and muggings, as well as petty crime like bag snatching and passport theft,” Smart Traveller warns.
