Weeks after being crowned the oldest world number 1, Bengaluru’s own tennis ace Rohan Bopanna will attend Bengaluru FC’s next game on February 7. The veteran star, who was conferred the Padma Shri recently, will be in attendance at the Kanteerava Stadium in the home side’s game against Chennaiyin FC.

Australian Open winner Rohan Bopanna returns to Bengaluru

Bopanna became the oldest men’s doubles Grand Slam champion in the Open Era (from 1968). The 43-year-old has been on a record-breaking spree. The Indian ace became the oldest World No. 1 in tennis history in just a couple of days and has now created one of the greatest records in tennis history.

Playing in his maiden Australian Open Final, he beat Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in straight sets 7-6(0), 7-5 to win their first Grand Slam title together.
