Australian Open Seedings: The seeds for Australian Open 2023 have been unveiled. World No.2 Rafael Nadal and Women’s World No.1 Iga Swiatek will enter the first Grand Slam tournament of the year as the top seeds. Defending champion Nadal became the top seed after World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz withdrew from the tournament after suffering an injury. While Nadal will headline the draw at the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, Norway’s Casper Ruud is the second seed. The World No.3 Ruud is eyeing his maiden Grand Slam title in his career. Both these players are followed by Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, who is the third seed. Menawhile, Novak Djokovic is the fourth seed.
In the Women’s draws, as expected while Swiatek is the first seed, she is followed by Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur, who is the second ranked player in the WTA Rankings. Both these players are eyeing their maiden title in the tournament.

All eyes will be on Novak Djokovic. The Serbian will make his return to the tournament after a ban last year. He starts as one of the favourites to win the title. He has already won nine Grand Slam titles and is eyeing a record 10th title at the Grand Slam event. Other big names include Andrey Rublev (6th seed), Felix Auger Aliassime (seventh seed), former World No.1 Daniil Medvedev (8th seed), Tyalor Fritz (9th seed).
In the women’s singles, USA’s Jessica Pegula is the third seeded player. She is followed by fourth seed Caroline Garcia, Aryna Sabalenka (5th seed), Maria Sakkar (6th seed), Coco Gauff(7th seed). The draws will be unveiled on Thursday, 12th January 2023.
