When it comes to Novak Djokovic, there are some tactics that just don’t work against him. An favourable, unsupportive crowd is one of them, and it only propels him to do better. His second round match at the Australian Open 2024 was another such instance, where a member from the spectators, tried to get under his skin, but to no avail.
In his second round match against Australia’s Alexei Popyrin, the Serb won 6-3, 4-6, 7-6, 6-3, but not before bit of a drama. Trailing in the match at one point, for a brief while, Djokovic grew only more determined, to enter the third round of the Australian Open.
Now, the most successful player ever, Djokovic will be up against Tomas Martin Etcheverry of Argentina. Meanwhile, Djoker has won 10 Australian Open titles till now in his career, and 24 in all. In 2023 alone, he won three slams, barring the Wimbledon.
