Coco Gauff seems unstoppable right now. The 19-year-old put up another clinical performance to move to the third round of the Australian Open 2024. Facing compatriot Caroline Dolehide at the Margaret Court arena, Gauff had to battle her 43rd-ranked opponent in the first set.
After closing the first set in the tiebreaker, Coco Gauff breezed through the second set, breaking Dolehide twice in the process. The reigning US Open champ won her second round 7-6(2), 6-3, to set up a clash with another compatriot, Alycia Parks.
Ever since Coco Gauff started to work with new coach Brad Gilbert, her performance has been off the charts. Since Gilbert joined Gauff in August 2023, she has won the Citi Open, the Cincinnati Masters, the ASB Classic, and the US Open.
Currently, on a 9-match win streak at the Grand Slams, Gauff is one of the top contenders for the Australian Open 2024 title alongside the likes of Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina.
