However his withdrawal from the upcoming Indian Wells Masters has put his spot at the top of the rankings under threat. Djokovic has entered his 377th week at the top of the World rankings. This is two weeks more than Steffi Graf’s tally of 375 weeks overall at the top in the history of Tennis. The Serbian is guaranteed to stay at the top spot for another fortnight. Current World No 2 Alcaraz can leapfrog the 22-time Major champion if he wins Indian Wells.

However, the 19-year old should also have to win the subsequent Miami Open to guarantee a spot. Alcaraz is the defending champion at Miami.
Stefanos Tsitsipas meanwhile currently has 5,805 points in the rankings. The only way for the Greek to surpass Djokovic in the rankings is to win one of the two upcoming Masters 1000 events. He also has to reach the final of the other to jump two places and reach a new career-high.
