Bangladesh is going to compete at the Paris Olympics in 2024. The nation is sending a total of five athletes to the Paris Games.
Since gaining independence in 1975, the nation made its debut at the 1984 Olympics. It will be the nation’s 11th appearance at the Summer Games.
Bangladesh is sending athletes in four sports this year, including archery, athletics, shooting, and swimming.
Bangladesh in Archery at the Paris Olympics 2024
Bangladeshi archer Sagor Islam will compete in the men’s individual event in archery. The 18-year-old athlete will be participating in the Olympics for the first time.
Sagor secured his Olympic quota when he reached the semifinals of the men’s individual recurve event at the Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Turkey, held this June.

Imranur Rahman will represent Bangladesh in the men’s 100m event at the Paris Olympics. British-Bangladeshi Imranur is an overseas-based sprinter. He received a wildcard entry to the games.
Bangladesh in shooting at Paris Olympics 2024
Md. Robiul Islam will participate in the men’s 10-metre air rifle event at the Paris Olympics in 2024. He also received a wildcard entry.
Bangladesh in swimming at Paris Olympics 2024
Bangladesh is sending two swimmers to the Paris Olympics 2024. Samiul Islam Rafi will take part in the men’s 100m freestyle, and Sonia Akter will take part in the women’s 50m freestyle.
Samiul Islam Rafi is the ninth male swimmer from Bangladesh to receive a wildcard entry to the Olympic Games.
Sonia also received a wildcard entry to the games. Both swimmers earned their wildcards based on their timing and ranking in the World Championship.
