Meanwhile wrestlers Naveen and Satywart Kadiyan won bronze medals as Indian men wrestlers won five medals in the freestyle wrestling category.

Ravi Dahiya beat Rakhat Kalzhan 12-2

Ravi Dahiya defeated his opponent 12-2 in the gold medal bout to win the title in the 57 kg category. This is Dahiya’s third straight gold medal at the Asian Championships. This was his second final of this year after he won a silver medal earlier this year at Dan Kolov event in February.

  • 57Kg Category – Ravi Dahiya Road to FINALS: Olympic silver medalist Ravi Dahiya (IND) faced tough competition from Rikuto ARAI (JPN) in Quarterfinals of Asian Championship.

  • Ravi ultimately overpowered the young Japanese with a run of takedowns for a 15-4 technical fall to advance to the semifinals at 57kg.

  • He defeated local favorite Zanabazar ZANDANBUD (MGL) to enter the FINALS. Dahiya then won 12-2 against Rakhat KALZHAN (KAZ) to win the Gold medal. 

  • In the final, his opponent moved ahead early for a considerable time. However, Ravi bounced back and dominated the bout. He effected six consecutive two-pointers and also saved himself from a left-leg attack to finish the bout early to secure India’s first gold medal at the event. 

65 kg Category – Bajrang Punia lost to Rahman Amouzadkhalili

Bajrang Punia defeated Uzbekistan’s Abbos Rakhmonov 3-0 in the last eight and Bahrain’s Haji Mohammad Ali 3-1 in the last-four to make it to his fourth straight final. he however lost the Gold Medal match to Iranian Rahman Amouzadkhalili 3-1. This was Bajrang’s third consecutive silver medal in the continental tournament. 

79 kg Category: Gourav Baliyan lost to Ali Bakhtiar SAVADKOUHI:

Gaurav Baliyan gave a tough fight to two-time Asian medallist Ali Bakhtiar Savadkouhi and levelled the scores 9-9. However the Indian lost the summit clash as the Iranian had a higher scoring move in the bout. 

Earlier in the rematch of the ’20 Asian final, Baliyan avenged his loss against Arsalan with an 8-5 victory in the semifinal. He led 2-1 at the break with a counter. But in the second period, the two changed leads three times. Budazhapov scored a stepout before Baliyan added an exposure for two but gave up the reversal and a roll. Budazhapov needed to defend the 5-4 lead for a minute but he failed to keep up and conceded a takedown with 11 seconds remaining. Baliyan won 8-5, making him the third Indian in the final

70 kg Category – Naveen beat Temuul ENKHTUYA 8-0

Naveen defeated Mongolia’s Temuul Enkhtuya by fall in the bronze medal match in the 70 kg category to grab India’s fourth medal for the day. 

97 kg category Satyawart KADIAN beat Takashi Ishiguro 5-0

Meanwhile, in the 97 kg category, Kadiyan defeated Turkmenistan’s Zyyamuhammet Saparov 10-0 to bag India’s fifth medal on the day.

Earlier, Kadian shut out Takashi Ishiguro and won 5-0 in the quarterfinals. In the Semifinals Kadian lost to Mohammadhossein MOHAMMADIAN of Iran. He defeated local favorite Zanabazar ZANDANBUD (MGL) to enter the FINALS. Dahiya then won 12-2 against Rakhat KALZHAN (KAZ) to win the Gold medal.
