Asian Games: PV Sindhu oozes confidence in social media post, introduces her team to the world

PV Sindhu has a huge challenge coming up for her at the Asian Games women's singles event.

At any given competition across the globe, PV Sindhu is India’s most important badminton player in the team. Despite her poor form, practically no one can rule her out from winning the Asian Games gold. The Indian is leaving no stone unturned to return to form and deliver the kind of success that she is expected to.

For the same, she even trained with legendary Prakash Padukone in Bengaluru, along with her regular coach Hafiz Hashim. On Thusday, Sindhu began her Asian Games campaign as she clinched a comfortable win in the Women’s Team event against Mongolia.

On Monday, three days prior to the first match, Sindhu, in a lengthy post, gave an indication that she is hungry for success. She also introduced her training team to the world.

Sindhu wrote on X, “Asian Games!!!!! The excitement is building from day 1, and the butterflies have started fluttering, especially after the long flight to get here. I’m dedicated to maintaining a training camp that has truly pushed me to my limits.”

PV Sindhu’s team

Right now, Sindhu’s team consists of Padukone, her mentor, along with coach Hashim. Srikanth Varma is her strength and conditioning coach, while Dr. Zeinia is the latest addition to her team, who takes care of her recovery, and physiotherapy.

This year, Sindhu had been under tremendous pressure as she failed to win even a single tournament at the BWF circuit. In fact, she crashed out of seven competitions in the first round itself, due to which her ranking also plummeted to WR-15. After her CWG 2022 win, she suffered an ankle injury, and her form has never been the same.

But all is not lost, as she has shown glimpses that she can still do well. Sindhu is also leading the Indian badminton contingent at the Asian Games.
