Indian shuttlers Sai Pratheek Krishna-Tanisha Crasto and Satwik Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty progressed to the next rounds at the Asian Games in the mixed and men’s doubles badminton respectively on Monday while Srikanth Kidambi also won his singles match.
In the round of 32 mixed doubles, Sai Pratheek Krishna and Tanisha Crasto defeated Macao’s Chong Leong and Weng Chi NG 2-0. The Indian shuttlers dominated the game from the very first set and clinched 21-18, 21-14 victory.

In the men’s doubles round of 32 match, Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty scored 2-0 victory over Hong Kong’s Hin Long Chow and Chun Wai Lui. The Indian pair won 21-11, 21-16. Srikanth Kidambi too won in straight sets 21-10, 21-9 against Vietnam’s Duc Phat le.
In the mixed doubles round of 32 matches, Arjun Madathil-Dhruv Kapila and Rohan Kapoor-Sikki Reddy retired from their respective matches due to injuries that enabled their opponents to move to the next rounds.
India men’s badminton team bagged their first-ever silver medal in the Asian Games on Sunday. The badminton events started on September 28 and will conclude on October 7.
