India’s Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh made it to the final in Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls at the Asian Games on Thursday, 21st September. Another Indian pair in Parminder Singh and Satnam Singh also reached the final as they topped in the repechage in Men’s Doubles sculls on the day. The final is scheduled on September 24 at the Fuyang Water Sports Centre in Hangzhou.

Arvind and Arjun Lal kick-started the action for the day in Repechage in Rowing. They clocked at 6.55.78 and ecuring the spot in the final. The duo jumped into an early lead and never let go of it until the finish.
Japan finished second with the timing of 7:05.91 while the Philippines secured the third position by clocking 7:10.97. The Indian duo finished second in the first round of their respective event yesterday.

Meanwhile, Satnam Singh (bow) and Parminder Singh also topped the Men’s Doubles sculls event in the repechage. They clocked 6.48.06 to finish first to qualify for the final in Double Skulls. Iraq (also marked an FA finish), Hong Kong China, Sri Lanka and Kuwait were the others in the field.
Satnam and Parminder also made it to the repechage after finishing in the second place in the heats. They clocked 6:27.01 and ended up behind Chinese pair Liu Zhiyu and Liang Zhang.
On the day, India’s Women’s Doubles sculls duo Kiran and Anshika Bharti finished in the fourth place in the repechage. They will now compete for 6th to 12th position.
