Arjun Deshwal shares his journey to lightning fast 1000 raid points in PKL

Arjun Deshwal becomes the second fastest player to reach 1000 raid points in Pro Kabaddi League history, celebrating the milestone alongside Jaipur Pink Panthers' victory over UP Yoddhas.

Jaipur Pink Panthers’ captain Arjun Deshwal has added another remarkable achievement to his career, becoming the second fastest player in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) history to reach 1000 raid points. Deshwal achieved this feat during his team’s 33-30 victory over UP Yoddhas in his 97th PKL match.

Victory more than personal feats

Despite this personal milestone, Deshwal remained humble, emphasising that the team’s victory was more significant than his individual accomplishment. “The team’s victory was more important than the 1000 points. But both happened together, and I’m happy about that,” he said.

Deshwal’s dedication to Kabaadi

When asked about who he dedicated his achievement to, Deshwal expressed his deep gratitude towards the sport of kabaddi. “If I have to thank anyone, it would be kabaddi first. Whatever name, fame, and success I have today is because of kabaddi, the Pro Kabaddi League, and Mashal Sports. Thanks to kabaddi for giving me everything,” he shared.

Hard work and team support

Deshwal’s achievement is particularly impressive, as he became the seventh player in PKL history to reach 1000 raid points. Reflecting on his journey, he said, “When a player puts in hard work, it always bears fruit sooner or later. So whatever hard work we’re putting in is showing results now.” He also acknowledged the importance of team support in his success: “This is kabaddi – a single player can’t achieve anything. Team support and coach support are very crucial. I’ve received all of this, along with my parents’ blessings.”

Team Effort and leadership

Deshwal’s leadership has been vital to the Jaipur Pink Panthers’ strong campaign. With teammates like Neeraj Narwal stepping up, the team’s all-around performance was evident in the victory, further solidifying Deshwal’s role as a key player.
