According to a tweet from Anthony Joshua, he has threatened to end his career if he is defeated. If the people want me to retire, I will retire; I am not here to fight them. If the people don’t want me to fight, I won’t. The urge to compete is more important than financial gain. What matters is that.

AJ gets honest about his boxing future ahead of facing Jermaine Franklin

After losing twice to Oleksandr Usyk, the undisputed world champion, Joshua is currently striving to get back in the ring.

Franklin is fresh off a narrow points loss to Dillian Whyte, a bout which, in the opinion of some, Franklin should have won. Joshua has not won a bout since 2020, and a third straight defeat would likely be his last.

Antony Joshua will be fighting this bout with Jermaine Franklin since his last fight in 2020. But the fighter has already set up his mind to retire if he still cannot win this fight.

“I will. I will retire if I lose. I’m not here to battle people. If people want me to retire I will retire,” he told MailOnline.

“I’m not going to fight if people don’t want me to. It’s not even about the money. It’s about the competitor in you. That’s what’s important.

“It [pressure] comes with the business and it comes with the territory, I know that.

“I know when I am retired, I am gonna be chilling. I’m gonna be thinking f**k everyone. I am done.
