Andy Roddick calls Becker-Kyrgios feud dumb and useless on X. Then deletes post

In a recent interview, Kyrgios called it ‘ridiculous’ to suggest that Becker and his peers from his time would still be dominating the sport today, given how much tennis has changed since Becker’s heyday

Boris Becker’s recent feud with Nick Kyrgios on Thursday escalated to a new level when another Tennis legend Andy Roddick joined the war of words with his view on the matter.

In a recent interview, Kyrgios called it ‘ridiculous’ to suggest that Becker and his peers from his time would still be dominating the sport today, given how much tennis has changed since Becker’s heyday in the eighties and nineties.

“I’ve watched Boris Becker and I’m not saying they weren’t good in their time, but to say that they would be just as good now, it’s absurd,” Kyrgios had said in a recent interview with The Athletic.

Boris Becker retaliated and blasted Kyrgios on social media. “Nick makes a lot of noise about tennis lately!?! Why does he speak about a sport he apparently hate,” the six-time Grand Slam winner wrote.

Now, Former tennis world No 1 Andy Roddick took to social media to air his grievance, claiming the debate about the who matter was just ‘useless noise’

Roddick wrote on X (now deleted), “For what’s it’s worth I think it’s equally dumb when former players act like they walked uphill both ways to school, and also when current players dismiss the skills of previous generations who built us all up. All based in ego, and it’s useless noise.”

It will be interesting to see which way Kyrgios-Becker the fight turns after the Roddick’s admission.
