Aman Sehrawat thrashes Darian Cruz 13-5, brings India’s first wrestling bronze home at Paris Olympics

Japan's Rei Higuchi beat both Darian (quarterfinal) and Aman (semifinal) by technical superiority on his way to the final in the men's 57kg freestyle.

Aman Sehrawat has become the first Indian wrestler to win a medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. After heartbreaking injuries to Nisha Dahiya and Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification, Aman was India’s best hope of winning a medal in wrestling. The 21-year-old was beaten by Japan’s Rei Higuchi in the semifinals and has beaten Puerto Rico’s Darian Cruz 13-5 to win a fourth bronze medal.
