Lakshya vs Axelsen LIVE: Right from the word go, Lakshy looked little nervy, tired and jaded. The moment of the legs was far from swift and smooth.
The effect of Lakshya’s marathon effort to defeat Lee Zil Jia on Saturday clearly took toll on the youngster.
The 1st game was a complete one sided affair with Axelsen with his trademark jump smashes completely smashed out Lakshya. The Dane won 21-10.
In the 2nd game, Lakshya started rallying little better. But it was too little and too late in the day. The Olympic Champion from Copenhagen won the game and match 21-15 to win another All England title to his name.

Lakshya vs Axelsen LIVE: India’s 21 YEAR Wait Continues
The 20-year-old Indian failed to emulating the feat of his mentor Prakash Padukone and chief coach Pullela Gopichand.
Prakash, at whose academy Lakshya learned the nuances of the game and still trains, won it in 1980. Gopichand was the last All England winner from India in 2001.
If Lakshya could have beaten Axelsen today, he would have become YOUGEST EVER INDIAN to win All England TITLE.
- Prakash was 25 when he won the All England Title in 1980
- Gopichand was 27 when he won the All England Badminton Championship
- In comparison Lakshya is just 20 & could have created history by winning the All England title.
