Arshad Nadeem created history when he won the gold medal at Paris Olympics. He went on to beat India’s Neeraj Chopra by smashing the Olympic record with a monstrous throw of 92.97 m. As a result, Ali Zafar has promised a huge reward of 1 million cash owing to his heroics.
The Pakistani singer and actor has also requested the Pakistan government to honour their star athlete. He has requested the government to establish a sports academy with his name as a mark of respect.
“Let’s show our heroes the celebration they deserve. I urge @GovtofPakistan @CMShehbaz to welcome him like a hero and establish a sports academy in his name. If our athletes and sportsmen start getting the support they deserve we can win 10 golds a year (sic),” Ali Zafar wrote on social media.
Arshad Nadeem breaks Olympic Record
When the day mattered, Arshad Nadeem produced a masterclass. He broke two Olympic records with a huge throw of 92.97 m. On the other hand it was a relatively poor show from India’s Neeraj Chopra. The Indian star produced one legal throw which earned him the silver medal.
Nadeem for the first time in his career beat Neeraj in a fight. Following the event, Neeraj acknowledged that his rival was much better than him and fully deserved the gold medal.
