After Paris Olympics failure, Lakshya Sen, PV Sindhu & Satwik/Chirag to skip Japan Open

After a torrid time at the Paris Olympics, the likes of PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen and Satwik/Chirag have decided to skip the Japan Open.

It has been a week since the badminton competition at the Paris Olympics got over. None of the Indian players won a medal there, with Lakshya Sen coming tantalisingly close to winning one, losing in the bronze medal playoff, vs Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia. Now, the BWF circuit is starting again, and it seems like the players have still not recovered from the physical and mental drain of the Paris Olympics. Naturally, there are numerous withdraws for the competition.

No Lakshya Sen, PV Sindhu & Satwik/Chirag in Japan Open

From India, there would be no Lakshya Sen, Satwik/Chirag and PV Sindhu participating at the Japan Open. As far as the foreign stars are concerned, Carolina Marin is out due to her injury, He Bing Jiao is retired, while the pair of Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping have pulled out.
