50M Rifle 3 Position: Indian shooters Aishwary Tomar, Sanjeev Rajput crashes out of final race, event ends in more disappointment for Indian shooting

Tokyo Olympics Shooting LIVE: Earlier Tomar made a great start to the event in KNEELING LEG. With two perfect series of 100, Indian shooter ended the 4 series leg at NO. 2 position. But the young Indian shooter could not sustain that momentum in PRONE & STANDING Leg and crashed out of the event. Aishwary shot 397 (99,100,98,100)  in KNEELING series. His senior compatriot Sanjeev Rajput right from the start was below-par.

@9:50AM: 50M Rifle 3 Position LIVESTANDING LEG STARTS – Aishwary Tomar 95, 96,93 / Rajput now at 21st position

  • SERIES 2 Standing LEG: Tomar is slipping more – now 18th after Series 2 Score of 96
  • SERIES 1 Standing LEG: Tomar starts- 9,9,9,9,10,10,10,10,10,9 – 95 @ 17th position now
  • Bad Prone leg for Tomar, he has dropped down to 15th place – can he make a comeback?
  • Meanwhile Rajput has finished his PRONE LEG @ 23rd POSITION with combined score of 780.

@9:15AM: 50M Rifle 3 Position LIVE – STANDING LEG STARTS – Henrik Larsen of Norway is currently leading the race with 798 points after Kneeling & Prone LEGS / Indian Aishwary Tomar is 15th with 788 Points. Tomar still has a outside chance to make it to the FINALS – but he needs to shoot exceptionally out of skin to make it top 8.

@9:05AM: 50M Rifle 3 Position LIVE – PRONE LEG STARTS – Aishwary Tomar currently at No. 2 position after KNEELING LEG – Reminding you, only 8 Shooters Qualify for FINALS.

Tokyo Olympics Shooting Live: 50M Rifle3 Position starts, Aishwary Tomar, Sanjeev Rajput in action, follow live updates

Tokyo Olympics Shooting LIVE – 50M Rifle 3 Position LIVE: Sanjeev Rajput will be competing in his third Olympics, and perhaps his last at the age of 40. The veteran is yet to taste Olympic glory but will have his eyes set on the target when enters the Arena on Monday. Rajput is currently ranked 6th in the World, and won the silver at the 2019 ISSF World Cup. The 40-year-old is consistent but will need to up his game if he has to make the podium at the Tokyo Olympics. 

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar meanwhile is ranked No.2 in the world and is a favourite to finish on the podium. The 20-year-old won the bronze medal in 50-metre rifle three positions at the 2019 Asian Shooting Championships and also finished on the podium in the mixed team event. He also won the gold medal in the 2021 ISSF World Cup and will have high hopes to clinch a podium heading into his Olympics debut.
