Thursday’s 2024 Federation Cup javelin finals, which takes place at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, will feature reigning Olympic and world champion Neeraj Chopra as a direct competitor. After winning the gold medal at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, Neeraj will participate in an Indian domestic tournament for the first time.
His training and participation in events overseas kept him from competing domestically in 2022 and 2023. In March 2021, Neeraj Chopra participated in his final competition in India, winning the gold medal with a throw of 87 points and 80 meters at the Federation Cup.
