Thirteen Indian para-shuttlers, including current champion Krishna Nagar, have successfully qualified for the upcoming Paris Paralympics, as confirmed by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). These athletes will be participating in nine different events during the badminton competition at the Paris Paralympics taking place from August 28 to September 8.
Nagar seek consecutive gold
Nagar will defend the gold medal he earned in the men’s singles SH6 category at the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics. Manoj Sarkar (men’s singles SL3) and Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj (men’s singles SL4) had taken home bronze and silver in Tokyo, respectively.
Huge representation from India
A total of thirty one National Paralympic Committees are represented by sixty men and sixty women para badminton athletes who have qualified for the Paralympic Games in Paris. According to the BWF, they will participate in 16 events (12 singles and 4 doubles).
