Ramana led the attack on the Mumbai Heroes bowlers, scoring 58 runs from just 23 deliveries to finish his innings with a half-century in just 14 balls. The opening pair of the Rhinos, Vikrant and Ramana, produced 150 runs for no loss in their allotted 10 overs in response to the Mumbai Heroes’ 94/2 score after they had taken the field first to bat. Runs were practically pouring down.

Mumbai Heroes, who were trailing by 56 runs, were only able to score further 91/5 runs in their second innings. The Rhinos therefore only needed 36 runs to win, which they easily attained in the third over. Ramana won the Best Batsman award while Vikrant’s 80 earned him the title of Man of the Match. Ashok Selvan won the Best Bowler award.
The Kollywood squad will try to regain its previous form after winning the first two iterations of the competition. Chennai Rhinos had beaten the Karnataka Bulldozers in the 2011 and 2012 finals, after which the Sandalwood team took the trophy home two years in a row, defeating the Telugu Warriors and Kerala Strikers respectively.
