The Mexican is the undisputed super-middleweight champion right now, but before the year is through, he might move up to the 200-pound limit to take on Jack.
Canelo and Dmitry Bivol, who defeated him in May of last year on points, have been strongly connected to a September rematch.

Canelo’s Next Boxing Fight- Everything You Need To Know: Canelo Alvarez vs Badoujack is Potentially In Works for Saudi Arabia
WBC cruiserweight champion Badou Jack and Canelo Alvarez have somewhat agreed to fight for Jack’s belt in Saudi Arabia. The weight is the problem, according to Skills Challenge’s boxing director Amer Abdullah.
The 39-year-old Jack might conceivably drop as low as 168 or 175. Canelo (59-2-2, 39 KOs) wants a MASSIVE, strength-draining catchweight. If Badou agrees, Canelo would benefit since Badou would appear to be a walking zombie during the weigh-in.

Canelo would be severely disadvantaged if Jack had to reduce his weight to 168 or 175 lbs. in order to accommodate the Mexican superstar because the cruiserweight division’s standard weight restriction is 200 lbs.
It is honestly puzzling that Canelo would demand a catchweight handicap of a whopping 25 to 27 lbs. One might see why Canelo requested a catchweight of 195 pounds for the 200-pound cruiserweight division, but asking for the weight to be at 168 pounds is just asking for trouble.
It’s unclear how long negotiations between Canelo and Badou have been going on, but that could account for Vadim Kornilov, the manager of Dmitry Bivol, saying that there have been “zero talks.” If so, Eddie Hearn has been lying to the public for months, including this week, by saying that Canelo wants to fight Bivol next.
