The Mexican boxer thanked his fans and the government
At the unveiling, Alvarez went into further detail about the accolade. “I’m honored to be present with everyone who helped make the statue in my honor possible. It’s evidence that dreams can come true, and I’m proud of it,” said Alvarez.

In an Instagram post, Alvarez said, “It is a beautiful honor for me to be acknowledged in the area that saw me develop and made me the person I am today. Thank you to everyone who attended and to the Juanacatlán government for this award.”

Alvarez has already said he intends to fight again in May while recuperating from surgery on his left wrist. John Ryder, a British opponent, has recently come up frequently in conversation. On Monday, Alvarez also provided some clarification regarding his future.
