Australian cricketer David Warner’s future in Test cricket is under dark clouds after another failure in ongoing Ashes 2023. The Australian opener scored 4 & 1 in two innings as Australia suffered a defeat in ENG vs AUS third Test. Amid the criticism of his performance, Warner’s wife, Candice, posted a cryptic Instagram post which hinted on the Aussie star’s possible retirement.
Candice Warner posted a family picture on her official Instagram account.
“The end of an era for us touring with test cricket, it’s been fun. Forever your biggest supporters and your girl gang. Love you @davidwarner31”, she captioned the post.

The caption sparked curiosity among fans, leading them to question whether the 36-year-old cricketer had made a decision regarding his retirement from Test cricket.
One fan replied to the post, wishing him luck in his retirement and suggesting that Matt Renshaw should replace him for the upcoming match at Old Trafford.
A struggling Ashes 2023 for Warner so far
With three games completed in the Ashes series, Warner’s performance has been far from impressive. The left-handed opener has managed to score only 141 runs in six innings, with an average of 23.50 and a solitary half-century to his name. These numbers have raised doubts among fans and pundits about Warner’s ability to continue in Test cricket.
Australian captain Pat Cummins has also hinted at Warner’s position in the coming Tests. With Cameron Green set to be fit and Mitchell Marsh’s good form, it is likely that the Australian management might pick both all-rounders and drop Warner.
Notably, David Warner boasts an impressive career record in Test cricket. Having played 107 matches, he has amassed over 8,340 runs, with an average of 44.61.
