Brazil vs Guinea: Guinea look to win against mighty Selecao with strong squad

Guinea will be coming to play against Brazil after a narrow defeat against Egypt. Brazil will be a mighty opponent for them, but they will still look to give their best performance. Their next match will be against Malawi. If they can manage to get one point in that match, they will reach the Africa Cup of Nations final.

Brazil vs Guinea: International Friendlies – Guinea will have a huge task on their hands as they take on the 3rd ranked FIFA team. Their current record doesn’t help either as they have won only 3 out of their last 10 matches in all competitions. However, they should have some positive motivation as even though they lost, they still performed well. They are also only one point away from reaching the Africa Cup of Nations final. While winning against Brazil can be huge for them, they can still take confidence if they give a good performance against them.

Guinea are coming back from a 1-2 defeat against Egypt. They put out a brilliant performance against them as they took the lead through Serhou Guirassy in the 26th minute of the match. However, Egypt took back the game in their hand as they equalized from Trezeguet’s goal 3 minutes before the half-time break. Then Mostafa Mohamed gave Egypt the lead and the winning goal in the 79th minute of the match. Losing at such a narrow margin to a team that is 44 ranks above them in FIFA should give them some motivation.

Prior to their defeat against Egypt, they won twice against Ethiopia. Between a 3-day gap, they won by a 2-0 margin in the first match and by a 2-3 margin in the second match against Ethiopia. However, this only brought their win tally to 3 matches in their last 10 games in all competitions. They were extremely close to grabbing a place in the top two spots in the Africa Cup of Nations. While the loss against Egypt was a setback for them, they still have a chance to reach the finals.

In fact, they are only 1 point away from securing a place in the Africa Cup of Nations final. They can get that point from their next match against Malawi. Other than their 2 wins against Ethiopia, their only other win in their last 10 games came against Malawi last year. The only match prior to their match against Malawi is this friendly against Brazil. Even if they don’t win it, a good performance against Brazil will help them get that extra motivation for their next match.

Insidesport

The coach will probably keep the same team that put up a good fight against Egypt. However, Guinea’s strongest side was lined up against them only three days ago. Hence, the coach will have to think about whether his players can sustain another 90 minutes on Saturday. For that reason, he could be forced to make a few changes to his squad. Naby Keita will again be leading the team with the captain’s armband. The coach will probably call up Mohamed Camara and Jose Kante in the starting lineup.

Camara will take his place in the defense while Kante will be lined up in the final third. Camara would be given the chance as Mouctar Diakhaby sustained an injury during their match against Egypt. However, the coach could still take a late decision on Camara as he has missed the majority of the campaign’s second half due to a torn meniscus. If he is lined up, Conte, Sow, and Sylla will take up the places beside him in the defense. Whereas, Guilavogui, Keita, and Kamano will help Kante in the final third.

Guinea Probable Starting XI: Kone; Conte, Sow, Camara, Sylla; Diawara, Moriba; Guilavogui, Keita, Kamano; Kante
