Fans have had a difficult week with the loss of WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk a few days ago. Unfortunately, the Chief Content Officer Triple H has now announced that Bray Wyatt (Windham Rotunda), 36 years old, also passed away on August 24. Despite his ongoing health issues that led to his absence from wrestling and television, his family has noted that his death was unexpected and sudden.

Bray Wyatt Died Shockingly At 36
Rotunda’s most recent fight took place at the Royal Rumble event in January, where he faced off against up-and-coming WWE talent LA Knight. This match was promoted as the inaugural “Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match.” Following this event, Rotunda had been absent from performances, supposedly due to health concerns.
And now Triple H on X (previously Twitter) wrote, “Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda — also known as Bray Wyatt — unexpectedly passed earlier today. Our thoughts are with his family and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time.”
The iconic storyline of Bray Wyatt, from his memorable time with the Wyatt family to headlining major PPVs, created countless unforgettable moments for fans. However, his absence prior to his return in the ring left a void within the company.
Many fans wondered why he was released in 2021, but thanks to HHH, he made a comeback with an enigmatic storyline buildup. Unfortunately, this return was short-lived due to his health issues.
Similar to Dwayne Johnson, Rotunda, also known as Wyatt, came from a wrestling legacy as a third-generation wrestler. His father was Mike Rotunda, and his grandfather was Blackjack Mulligan. As fans mourn his passing, they’ll fondly recall his role as the leader of the Wyatt Family faction and his creative contributions with The Firefly Funhouse and the Fiend persona. The wrestling community is deeply shocked by his sudden passing and is offering prayers for his soul.
