Boria Majumdar BANNED? – Boria vs Wriddhiman Saha: The BCCI are all set to ban journalist Boria Majumdar for two years in Wriddhiman Saha case. BCCI has decided to inform all STATE-UNITS about the BAN. All his entry to the stadiums will be STOPPED according to a BCCI official. “We will be informing all state units of the Indian cricket board to not allow him inside stadiums. He won’t be given media accreditation for home matches.” a top BCCI official told The Sunday Express on condition of anonymity.
Boria vs Wriddhiman Saha – BCCI Sanctions Boria Majumdar: The BCCI are also set to inform all state units to ban his entry from the stadiums. The Board will also write to ICC to blacklist the journalist for two years.
“We will also be writing to ICC to blacklist him. Players will be asked not to engage with him”, added the BCCI official in interview to The Express.
Why BCCI is banning Boria Majumdar?
The Indian board had formed 3 member committee comprising of BCCI Vice-President Mr Rajiv Shukla, BCCI Treasurer Mr Arun Singh Dhumal and BCCI Apex Council Member Mr Prabhtej Singh Bhatia.
Allegations: BCCI stated that a “centrally contracted cricketer was allegedly threatened by a senior journalist for not responding to his messages asking for an interview”.
Now according to the Board Sources, the BCCI three-member panel committee found Majumdar guilty.
The committee has submitted its report where they found Boria of trying to force his power over the senior wicketkeeper batter after he did not respond to his interview call during India’s Test series against Sri Lanka.

- The controversy started when Saha shared a Twitter post that said, “After all of my contributions to Indian cricket… this is what I face from a so-called ‘Respected’ journalist! This is where journalism has gone.”
- Saha also shared screenshots of the harsh messages he received from the journalist.
- “You did not call. Never again will I interview you. I don’t take insults kindly. And I will remember this.”
- The seasoned wicketkeeper batter received support from Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag, and other former cricketers
- Shastri also urged BCCI president Sourav Ganguly to look into the matter
- After a lot deliberation the three-member BCCI panel found BORIA Guilty.
