Boria Majumdar banned: BCCI’s letter to all members informing on the sanctions imposed on Majumdar

The BCCI have imposed sanctions on journalist Boria Majumdar after his ugly spat with wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha. Majumdar allegedly threatened Saha following his axe from the Indian team with the latter sharing screenshots of the same. “After all of my contributions to Indian cricket… this is what I face from a so-called ‘Respected’ journalist! This is where journalism has gone,” Wriddhiman Saha said in the tweet.

In the screenshots, Majumdar said, “You did not call. Never again will I interview you. I don’t take insults kindly. And I will remember this.”

After Saha’s revelation, the BCCI took matters into its own hands, forming a three-member committee to probe the incident. BCCI Vice-president Rajeev Shukla, treasurer Arun Dhumal and Prabhtej Bhatia, who is an apex council member interviewed both Saha and Majumdar on the allegations before making the final decision.

Boria meanwhile had contested Saha’s claims and said that the Indian wicketkeeper had doctored their conversation to gain publis sympathy. He also threatened to file a defamation case and posted a video pleading his innocence on social media.

“I had been deeply anguished by what has transpired in the last few weeks and that’s because Wriddhiman Saha has fabricated, doctored and manipulated screenshots and has put it out in the public domain trying to implicate me and garner public sympathy in the process,” Majumdar had said in the video.
